Lettuce Leaf with Snail
“The Girl with the ringlets” brings back the reproduction of vegetalist motives through the use of direct moulding and traditional manual technical application of rubber. This traditional lettuce leaf was especially designed to serve snails, or other small snacks, and alludes to the city of Lisbon. It is hand-painted and glazed in two tones of green, and adorned with a snail and two small toothpicks from the Portuguese brand Campeões. This piece is machine-washable and can be used in the microwave.
Packaging
The box is made from microcellular cardboard around which is wrapped a paper sleeve which contains an illustration and the synopsis of the tale “The Girl with the ringlets”, which tells the story of the origin of the name “Alfacinhas” given to the people of Lisbon, as well as that of a young lettuce seller, with curly hair, who one day saved the city of Lisbon from a siege. Written in both Portuguese and English.
